Day of the Horse Studio Reveal with Kim McElroy

Today is the Day of the Horse, and to honor it I’m opening my studio in a quiet and personal way.

This filmed Studio Reveal invites you into the gallery to spend time with a small gathering of works shaped by my ongoing relationship with horses as living beings and guides. Each piece carries the presence of a particular horse or herd energy, and together they form a conversation that unfolded naturally in the studio.

As I move through the space, I speak about how these works arrived, how they asked to be listened to, and how they continue to live beyond the moment of their making. Some are originals that have never been shared before. Others returned asking to be re-imagined, revealing new layers of meaning through that process.

These artworks are not simply images, but presences that hold memory, relationship, and invitation. They reflect the ways horses meet us — with attentiveness, honesty, and a quiet depth that often asks us to slow down and listen.
