Replacement of the vacuum-powered wastegate control valve on the BMW N55 engine (2013 335i F30).
This part takes in an electrical command signal from the ECU, and allows vacuum to close the turbo wastegate, causing boost to build.
If you hear a buzzing when your N55 engine is running, this may be it. It does not vary with RPM. It stops instantly when the ignition is shut off. It may be intermittent.
Note that the latest cars (2017+) have an all-electric wastegate control system, not this part. Note also that the twin-turbo cars have two of these valves, one for each wastegate. Check your engine before ordering parts.
BMW part number: 11747626351 (latest as of January 2018). This part supersedes the one I removed (11747649407). The Pierburg OEM replacement part numbert is: 7.00887.21.0
Tools required: 10mm ratchet, optionally pliers to help with the wire clamp. This is a 15 minute job.
