My arrangement of the underrated 1966/67 Beach Boys song "Cabin Essence". It is one of my all-time favorite songs. I still remember the first time I heard it, at 17 years old. It was like nothing I had ever heard before.
R.I.P. Brian Wilson (1942-2025)
Brian was my favorite composer and producer, with some of the best songs ever written in his catalog. I have always liked his unusual and innovative chord progressions and choice of instruments, and the unfinished 1967 album SMiLE is in my opinion the best piece of musical work ever recorded, even in its unfinished form. It was, as he said himself: "a teenage symphony to God".
