For a cruiser that never fought in the Mediterranean or Pacific, HMS Norfolk got up to a surprising amount of surface action. From engaging a convoy late in her career, to fighting not one, but two German battleships.
She famously- alongside HMS Suffolk -stalked Bismarck during her attempt to break into the Atlantic. And Norfolk would do what her sister didn't, and manage to actually engage Bismarck in a gun-fight towards the end.
Two years later, she would repeat the process, and engage Scharnhorst at North Cape. This battle would see severe damage done to the cruiser, but she managed to survive.
Making Norfolk, so far as I can tell, a unique case of a British cruiser engaging two different German battleships. And not just two different battleships, but two different classes.
(in contrast to the ships sunk by Scharnhorst and Gneisenau operating together)
