about cusco, lima, ica
and i so badly wish i got to see the rest of the country
but peru,
i just want to say thank you
the energy of your land, the warmth of your people, the fire of your food
fills my heart with gratittude
if i could weave my memories of you together
i'd have a poncho fit for incan royalty
if i could keep this feeling of you in a bottomless bottle i'd pour you like pisco for everyone who has yet to know what a good time tastes like
to be left short of breath at the end of a rainbow mountain
and wonder if it's the altitude or awe
for the magnitude of pachamama

witnessed
inca stone ruins, towering terraces
sacred vallies, a desert oasis
i scaled a poncho shaped mountain
and at the top found strength in trust

a spiritual connection
