For this fight I used - PLD,WHM,COR,WAR,SAM,BRD. I turned the DPS way down this run and focused more on survivability. I like Dirge to make sure Kalunga never turns. This can happen once Enmity is capped (usually for me around 40%).
I've had some sub 20% runs where he just spams Incinerating Lahar (weakness) and I just look at him for 5 min and time out.
You won't want to TP feed on this if possible and if you don't boost your DEF you'll be K.O. by double adds and a tail whip.
I was unlucky and had 3x Blistering Roars (Multi-Step Skillchain proc).
I had a few runs where I push to almost 50% before the first one but that was when my DPS was very high. Because of this I either Jinpu or Fell Cleave the mult-step so you can keep extending it if needed. I like SAM for meditate incase Kalunga puts up a stoneskin.
I think changing the buffs below 40% is key since you don't need as much DEF at the start (until 2nd add).
This run I swapped out my Samurai Roll for Galliant's Roll and got fortunate on auras (DEF or ATTK down below 40% is 100% loss). I had to swap back to Samurai's Roll because it was such a hit on DPS I wasn't pushing below 40% fast enough. Had to risk it for the biscuit.
I've tried a RUN but Searing Serration will one shot it too much. PLD is king this fight so just go with it.
