NYに来て初めてクリスマス当日にManhattanに出かけ
クリスマス気分を味わおうと思ったのですが人混みの多さにびっくり！
Brooklynのクリスマスライトアップで有名なDyker Heightsは
見事なライトアップに寒さを忘れて見とれてしまいました。
父の命日でもあるクリスマス。
返事のない父との会話で彼を偲んだ日でした。
It was my first time going out to Manhattan on Christmas Day since coming to New York, feeling the Christmas vibes,
but I was surprised by how crowded it was.

Dyker Heights in Brooklyn, famous for its Christmas lights,
was so beautifully illuminated
that I forgot about the cold and simply stood there, mesmerized.

Christmas is also the anniversary of my father’s passing.
It was a day spent remembering him,
through a quiet, one-sided conversation with my father.

🌸About Me🌸

After retiring in Japan, I moved to New York and attended a language school for five years. In 2022, I transferred to a community college.

In 2017, I arrived in New York with just two suitcases, intending to stay for only a year. I never imagined I would stay this long.

During my busy working days in Japan, a few years before retirement, I began to think about what I would do afterward. Experiencing the Tohoku earthquake changed my perspective on life. It made me realize that “tomorrow might not come”. I decided I wanted to live the rest of my life without regrets and fulfilled my dream of studying abroad, which I had since I was young.

Without much forethought, I set my sights on New York. Why did I choose New York? Perhaps New York was calling to me. My first experience living alone was in New York. Life has a way of working out, and I learned to enjoy living on my own in New York.

I am sharing snippets of my everyday life. I hope you enjoy the sights of New York and the super simple cooking that you wouldn't believe was done by a seasoned homemaker.

日本でリタイア後、ニューヨークに渡り
5年語学学校に通い
2022年コミニティーカレッジへ編入しました。
2017年スーツケース２個抱えてNYへ。
一年の滞在のつもりがこれ程長くなるとは思っていませんでした。

日本での仕事に追われる日々の中
リタイアの数年前から
さてさてリタイア後はどうしようかと考えていた時、
東北大震災を経験しました。
その経験は私の人生観を変え
”明日が必ず来るとは限らない！”と切実に思いました。
残りの人生　悔いのない人生にしたいと
そして、若い頃の夢”語学留学”を実現しました。
あと先考えずにNYを目指した私。
何故NYを選んだのか・・
NYが私を呼んでいた・・かな？
人生初の一人暮らしがNY。
人生何とかなるもので、
独りでも楽しく暮らせる事をNYでの生活で学びました。
そんな、何気ない生活をupしています。
NYの街並みとベテラン主婦とは思えない超簡単なcookingを
