The SS United States is one of the world’s last ocean liners. The fastest ocean liner ever built, taking the blue ribbon from the Queen Mary. For nearly 30 years has the vessel remained abandoned in the state of Philadelphia and until yesterday, February 19, 2025, the SS United States departs for one last voyage. A historically significant liner, a one of a kind beauty, to sail in the modern era is remarkably magnificent to observe. It’s unfortunate that this ship will be sunk to become the largest artificial reef instead of being restored, but it won’t be scrapped and will always be remembered.
