SONY F670ES Amplifier Service & Crackling Distorted Sound Issue Repair - Retfurb Audio Refurb

In this video we take a look at an early 1990's Sony F670ES stereo amplifier, Which is well passed needing a general service maintenance.
The unit appears not to have been cleaned since it was new.
This unit has an issue with crackling sound distortion on the left channel. Along with the interference crackling it will also dip in and out of sound on the left, which can be heard through the speakers. The crackling is only noticeable when using headphones.
We will disassemble the unit, to allow access to the components. We can then fault find the issues and hopefully rectify the issue.


The F670ES comes from Sony's high end ES range of systems. The ES range is considered the best of the best of what Sony has to offer.
Obviously with any older Hi-Fi equipment, They need servicing to keep working as they were intended.

This particular amplifier was purchased recently as is, In the hope it can be restored back to the former condition.
