Public opinion polls show Canadians turning away from Israel

In August 2025, Angus Reid, a respected Canadian survey research firm released a study on evolving Canadian attitudes toward Israel/Palestine. We asked Grafton Ross, OFIP Vice-Chair and head of research to walk us through the study.
Among the most significant conclusions
1. A large majority of Canadians find Israeli actions in gaza are morally outrageous
2. A growing number are not prepared to label it a "genocide"
3. A large majority of Canadians reject the argument that criticism of Israel is anti-semitic
4. While Canadians show distaste for Israeli actions, they are still not prepared to question whether Israel should continue to exist as a "Jewish" state.
