HobbyKing VQ Models Messerschmitt BF109 Maiden .52 ASP

Today was the maiden of the Messerschmitt BF109. This video is a round up of 3 flights. I have not flown 'successfully' for at least 6 months....and i jump in at the deep end with an IC low wing. Bad idea really but it went really well. I say successfully because the FPV168 plane had a nasty accident on its 2nd maiden and was a wreck.

There were 2 or 3 mishaps, 1 you see in the video, a dead stick landing. Not sure why it cut out but it went back up after for a nice uneventful flight....until i buggered up the landing.

Plane is undamaged, just bent landing gear. The weak landing gear is actually saving the plane from being destroyed on shoddy landings so i will just keep bending them back into place until i have mastered this bird.

The plane went together without any problems, its a fantastic ARF kit and i would recommend to anyone, although not a beginners plane and you do need some experience with glow engines. I bought the ARF plane on offer and it was £82 to my door. Bargain.

The .52 asp is tuned well and hold the tune. It starts after a few flicks when cold and when ran, it was left for a few mins and started without a prime! fired on the fuel in the crankcase and sucked the fuel up the line.

I have set the CG 92mm from the leading edge and it tracks very well, you point and it goes there, tracks like its on rails :D
