Phou Si Hill, the sacred mountain in Luang Prabang, Laos, is said to be the place where the monkey king Hanuman moved from Sri Lanka to the peninsula between the Nam Khan River and the Mekong River. A 24-meter-high golden pagoda was built on the mountain in 1804. From the mountain, you can have a 360-degree view of the city of Luang Prabang. Golden Buddha statues are dotted in the mountains. The sunset at Phou Si Hill is one of the scenic spots in Luang Prabang, attracting a large number of Western tourists.
