“Oceans” is the final track from my new EP Rebirth — a cinematic alt-folk song about letting go and finding peace after a season of change. It’s about giving in to the moment, being present, and finally releasing what you’ve been holding onto too tightly.
I wrote Oceans during a period of huge personal change — losing my grandfather, my mum’s stroke, the end of an eight-year relationship. It became a moment of calm after all that chaos — the sound of acceptance.
The track blends organic folk textures with ambient soundscapes and layered vocals that ebb and flow. It’s emotional, atmospheric, and quietly hopeful — for fans of Bon Iver, RY X, and Ben Howard.
