It was in 2014 when I discovered I am HIV positive, that was after years of being in and out of the hospital without proper diagnoses. Discovering that I am HIV positive at that time when HIV Positive People were treated as outcasts, was not easy.

Being HIV for me at that time seemed like a death sentence, the fear that I had to deal with. The anticipated rejection by community family and friends, it was really hard to accept and move on...but it is what it is. The HIV was not going anywhere.

Today, being a mother of two and in a happy relationship, I can tell you that indeed HIV is not a death sentence and it is definitely nothing to be ashamed of.
