In this video I break down the back side of the sewing pattern envelope for you in a ridiculously in depth way. The information I will cover gives you a better picture of what the garment was designed to fit like and how it will fit you based on your body measurements AND the amount of ease included in the pattern.

The pattern we are using is Butterick 6214 (B6214)- a simple loose fitting top that will be the perfect starting point for beginners and those of you who have had failed attempts at making your own clothes in the past. This will be a fun sew along so I hope you'll stick around and give it a go! You might surprise yourself!

This sew along series is for beginners who want to learn how to sew their own clothes. If you are impatient or need a quick fix this is probably not the sew along series for you.

My teaching style lends itself to a super in-depth understanding of the different factors that will play a role in the garment sewing process. If you are tired of wasting time & money on trying to make your clothes and have had repeated unsuccessful results I challenge you to take your time, be patient, take notes and watch this entire video. You can do it!

I do a lot of talking in this video but I promise it's not just chatter. Everything I say has some type of importance in the overall garment sewing process. It's just this involved! There is no quickie solution to getting well fitting handmade clothes if you don't understand what you're working with in terms of pattern, fabric choice and notions.
