Learn with me step by step. Explore the posterior side of the knee with ultrasound using a zone-based approach: posteromedial, posterolateral, and posterocentral.
This is the final part of the Knee Ultrasound Series, and we now focus on the posterior aspect of the knee, an area often considered challenging.
To simplify the approach, we divide the posterior side into three anatomical zones:
🔹 Posteromedial
🔹 Posterolateral
🔹 Posterocentral
📌 Structures covered in this video:
Semimembranosus, medial gastrocnemius, posterior horn of the medial meniscus, medial joint line
Biceps femoris, lateral gastrocnemius, common peroneal nerve
Popliteus, plantaris, popliteal artery and vein, tibial nerve
We'll start with a clear anatomy review, then move on to real-time ultrasound scanning of each zone.
🧠 Ideal for: radiologists, sports physicians, MSK ultrasound professionals, PM&R, and physiotherapists.
