Standing 14 feet high above a granite monument on Captain’s Hill, in Duxbury, a statue of Myles Standish looks out over panoramic views of the coastal South Shore. PCN visited the state reservation to take in the scenery, and to learn about the monument’s history – which includes a lightning strike.
