This was one of those trips that dragged us well and truly off the grid.
We rolled in with a rough plan, plenty of gear, and an open mind for whatever the desert would throw our way.
We found ourselves standing at the old station house of Old Andado, a relic of grit and survival, holding its ground against time and sand.
Out here, it’s nothing but wode open spaces, endless horizons, and nights lit by a billion stars that make you feel small in the best way.
Man and machine were put to the test. The tracks were slow, the going was tough — but there’s no rush in a place like this.
Just dust, diesel, and the raw beauty of the outback.
And when the sun dipped below the dunes or climbed back over them come dawn, it stopped us dead in our tracks, speechless every time.
