A total of 7,400 flats in JJ Colony, Bhalswa, were constructed under the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana to rehabilitate slum dwellers. These flats were meant to provide affordable housing for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and were part of a broader initiative to make Delhi slum-free. However, over time, none of these flats were allotted to the intended beneficiaries. Today, the buildings lie in a state of severe neglect and deterioration.
