We were proud to name Intercity Express Train 802022 in honour of Cyril Bleasdale OBE, one of Britain’s most influential railway figures.
Cyril, who died in 2022 aged 88, helped to shape the future of British Rail by launching its famed InterCity sector back in 1982.
We welcomed his widow Katy to Paddington to unveil his train and officially announce him as our latest Great Westerner.
