On the concluding day of the Sri Aurobindo National Integration Camp, about 60 musicians from various parts of the country sang patriotic songs in seven languages with great enthusiasm. A book titled ‘The Diary Divine: Daily Dose of Spiritual Wisdom’, a unique compilation of the works of Sri Aurobindo, published by the National Book Trust, India, was also launched at the same function.
The Chief Guest at the function, Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, called the book “an amazing treasure”. Struck by the mesmerizing atmosphere that the patriotic songs created, she visualised a similar musical offering on the Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort. She also came up with a string of bright ideas about promoting National Integration, starting with children learning at least one new Indian language from YouTube, and the incentives their schools and the country could give them.
