Isaac Lahey | Being helpful is kind of a new thing for me.

It's April 19th at 9:32pm when I'm writing this, and I don't know where to begin writing, I'm crying as I'm typing this, but first of all, thank you, Ana, for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this contest. It's been a journey and a huge challenge for me, because I learned so many things, and this contest is probably the reason why Isaac is my favorite character now. Being honest, I never thought I'd make it past the 1st round because all of these talented editors were also competing, so yeah, it's been a shock and an honor to be part of the last round.

The last round consisted on choosing a topic and making a character study of our character, but we couldn't use any effects. This was a challenge to make because I never realized how much I used effects/velocity until I had to not use them at all, at the end I kinda was going mad, but I finished it. xD

I chose this song because I felt the lyrics fit quite a lot to the whole journey that has been Isaac's storyline, and it helped me show what I wanted to show in this video.

I wanted to show with this video how much his character had developed in such short time (10 months approximately according to the show timeline) and cherish them. He went from being a victim to being a hero, and since 2x11 (the puppy scene), he saw that he could help indeed in some capacity, and ever since then he tried to do the right thing and help.

He went from being scared almost always, to following orders (even though at the time in s2 he was considered some sort of villain or antagonist), to learning how to trust, to trying to help, to learning how to forgive and to learning how to love (because I don't care what you say, I'm 100% sure Isaac loved Allison), and let me tell you, he could might as well have gone batshit in the finale and pull a s2!angry isaac and be stubborn and try to kill the nogitsune and the onis to avenge Allison's death, but even then he remained kind of calm and said "we can stop them." he could've said "we can kill them" like back in s3A with the twins or back when he wanted to kill the kanima in s2. He didn't because he has grown as a character, and yeah, I wanted to point this out here.

He has changed so much, done so many new things, and even though he's back to having no one, I'm pretty sure he'll continue trying to do the right thing back in France.

As for me, I'll forever continue to be an Isaac Lahey fan, no matter that he's no longer in the show. He's a flawed character with some anger management issues, but I love his character just the way it is, I wouldn't really change a thing.
