My Second West Highland Way Journey--Two Solo Walkers Hike Together!

After walking the West Highland Way in late April of 2022, I knew I'd want to experience this magnificent trail again. After walking it, I immediately understood why people return year after year to repeat their WHW adventure. This trail has it all--moorland, mountains, forests and water. You can't go wrong with the West Highland Way!

As a solo walker, I began to wonder how I'd do walking with someone. Would the experience be one of camaraderie and fun? Would it be awkward? Could I keep up? It was during a conversation with another self-proclaimed solo walker that the idea for this co-WHW journey began to take shape.

And so hot off the heels of my Cumbria Way trek I headed to Milngavie to meet my new friend Barb and hike the West Highland Way for a second time. This time I would be hiking the trail in early June, a far cry from the experience I had the first time. Less cold, more midges and a hiking buddy! How does it all go?
