Tatra Trucks manufactures production trucks as well as special cars to measure. It has 1,100 employees and another 600 people work in the subsidiary Tatra Metalurgie. The majority owner of the Tatras is the Czechoslovak Group of Michal Strnad.

Since its foundation, TATRA has been based in the town of Kopřivnice in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. In the same city, there is also a subsidiary of TATRA METALURGIE a.s., which manufactures castings and forgings for engineering applications in many European countries.
TATRA TRUCKS a.s. is a partner of many cultural and sporting events. The company works closely with major technology museums, where visitors can learn about the long and rich history of the brand and its products, including not only trucks and cars, but also buses, cars, aircraft, engines and other means of transport.
