Norfolk Southern freight trains at Lewistown Junction, PA on a sunny Monday morning (06/14/2021)

Flag Day 2021 was a very promising day for railfanning, with me recording 11 freight trains. These included two manifests, two ethanols, a coal drag, a trash train, and five intermodals. (Total number of freights in this playlist: 168 as of this upload)


Clip 1:

At 7:42 AM, NS 4432 (GE AC44C6M) leads an intermodal eastbound on track 1.

Clip 2:
At 7:54 AM, NS 1034 (EMD SD70ACe) leads a westbound trash train crossing over from track 2 to track 1.

Clip 3:
At 8:10 AM, NS 4169 (GE AC44C6M) leads an eastbound intermodal on track 1.

Clip 4:
At 8:37 AM, NS 4440 (GE AC44C6M) leads a coal drag eastbound, crossing over from track 1 to track 2.

Clip 5:
At 9:35 AM, NS 8090 (GE ES44AC) leads a 132 car manifest eastbound on track 2. This train was hauling MOW track equipment at the tail end.

Clip 6:
At 10:14 AM, NS 7639 (GE ES44AC) leads a 132 car manifest eastbound on track 1. This train is pretty much the same number of cars as the first manifest, even having a midtrain DPU cut in at the same point. But it definitely feels completely different from the first one since this one has three locomotives on point instead of two, doesn't have a long chain of autoracks, and no MOW equipment on it.

Clip 7:
At 10:22 AM, NS 9780 (GE Dash 9-40CW) leads a doublestack train westbound on track 2.

Clip 8:
At 10:42 AM, NS 7269 (EMD SD70ACU) leads an eastbound ethanol train crossing over from track 2 to track 1. As it does so, JVRR 2106 brings a cut of boxcars past the station heading towards the yard to the west.

Clip 9:
At 11:11 AM, NS 7502 (GE ES44AC) leads a short (as in 46 cars) Z train westbound through the crossovers.

Clip 10:
At 11:33 AM, the Pennsylvanian makes its stop going eastbound, running 11 minutes behind schedule.

Clip 11:
At 11:46 AM, NS 4070 (GE AC44C6M) leads a short westbound stack train (23 cars) through the crossover.

Clip 12:
At 12:01 PM, NS 4375 (GE AC44C6M) leads an ethanol train on track 2. -
