Seattle University Associate Professor of American Politics Dr Patrick Schoettmer says it would be “shocking” if Donald Trump did not win the Iowa Republican caucus at this point.
“The real question is whether or not Nikki Haley is going to bypass Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place,” Mr Schoettmer told Sky News Australia.
The Professor of American Politics says Governor DeSantis is putting emphasis on rallying evangelical voters in the state.
“If he winds up coming in third behind the former South Carolina governor Haley, that’s essentially going to be the death knell of his campaign.”
Iowa Republican caucuses will be held on January 15 (local time), which will be the launchpad for candidates.
