Family and comrades of the Thika Technical Training Institute student who was shot dead in Juja during the Gen-Z protests on Wednesday is appealing for justice and speedy action.
While speaking in Thika as they waited for postmortem examination results, they dismissed reports that the victim, Victor Otieno was shot dead while attempting to raid Juja Police Station.
His father demanded to know the identity of the officer who pulled the trigger saying that, as a family, they had lost their only hope for a brighter future.
His cousin noted that Victor was way far away from the station and just held his phone taking selfies and videos of the demonstrations.
Colleague students described the deceased as a very humble and one who disliked any form of violence. They added that, contrary to reports that he was shot while inside the station, Victor was actually very far away and must have been hit from long range.
