Today we will work on a very important skill: how to sound better on cello when moving from one string to another. We’ll begin with some easy cello exercises, then apply these string crossing tips to a real piece of music. We’ll start by observing common mistakes and how to fix them, particularly focusing on bow angle, string crossings, and wrist flexibility. I will to answer this common question - Why does my cello sound squeaky? Finally, we’ll play Barcarole from vol. 1 f Dotzauer-Klingenberg cello method and apply our new skills.
