Meet Cathal Keaney: Lord of the Dance.

In late 2021, to promote the upcoming Germany 2022 tour of the new 25th anniversary show -- 25 YEARS OF STANDING OVATIONS -- Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance performed on the Giovanni Zarrella Show.

If you've been following the New Generation for some time, then you'll recognize all of the faces onstage. If you're new, however, then it's time to spotlight Cathal Keaney.

Currently there are only three Lords of the Dance in the world: James Keegan, Matt Smith, and Cathal Keaney. James and Matt have both had full performances commercially filmed: James in 2014 with Dangerous Games, and Matt in 2020 with the Feet of Flames Impossible Tour. Now you get a really good look at Cathal.

There's a disarming boy-next-door charm to Cathal Keaney. A mechanical engineer from National University Galway, Cathal is Irish dancing's Clark Kent: offstage, he's bespectacled, soft-spoken, and either playing piano or discussing Formula One automotive engineering.

Onstage, however...that's a different story.

Onstage, just as Clark Kent becomes Superman, so too does Cathal Keaney become the Lord of the Dance. The glasses come off, the shirt comes off, and suddenly you realize...oh my. The boy next door lives at the gym. And he's got the moves.

Here's another important factor: within the intensely competitive Irish dance world, Cathal has won two World Irish Dancing Championship titles along with multiple All Ireland, North American, British National and Great Britain titles. Competition dancing is the foundation virtually all Irish dancers build upon before turning pro, and Cathal managed the incredibly rare feat of not just turning pro, but becoming the Lord of the Dance: handpicked by Michael Flatley to lead the world's most successful dance show in front of stadiums.
