The future 2.5 kilometer tunnel called Kozjak, for some long overdue, for some controversial. The Kozjak tunnel, which is part of the new connection between Split and the A1 highway, is built by China Road and Bridge Corporation or CRBC. The same company that built the Pelješac Bridge. The complete project should be built by the end of 2027 with the road connecting the tunnel with the Adriatic highway in Kaštela, the tunnel and the road connecting the tunnel with the A1 highway. So far, about 1200 meters have been dug from the mountain.
