This time, I covered THE FAMOUSE hymn, "Abide with me".
Originally it was 4/4 tempo when composed by William Henry Monk,
but as soon as I heard this song, I instantly thought 12/8 tempo might be better. Also, third verse is an homage to JS Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's desiring". These are the reasons that it took long time to arrange and record this time, so I hope everyone enjoyed.
얼마전에 아래 동영상을 보고 이 찬양이 한국에서는 아직 많이 유명하지 않다는 것을 알게 되었습니다.
• 힌두교 국가에서조차 국경일에 온 국민이 함께 부르는 찬송가가 있다면 궁금하지...
저는 왠지 원곡의 4/4박자를 12/8박자로 바꿔야 할 것 같은 강한 느낌이 들었고 편곡하다보니 바흐의 "예수 인간 소망의 기쁨"을 조금 참고하기도 하였네요(3절부분).
한곡 한곡 넘어갈 수록 점점 욕심이 나고 어려워지는 것 같아요.
