Every month, a sacred Shabad Kirtan Samagam is organized at Bikanerwala, Rajouri Garden, where the Sangat participates with great devotion and enthusiasm.
In today’s holy gathering, Bibi Jasbir Popli Ji and her Kirtani Jatha performed Gurbani Shabad Kirtan in their sweet and melodious voice. Their soulful singing connected the hearts of the Sangat with Naam Simran and filled the entire atmosphere with spiritual peace.
Today’s Samagam was specially dedicated to the birth anniversary of Baba Deep Singh Ji.
Baba Deep Singh Ji (1682–1757) was a महान Sikh martyr, scholar, and warrior in Sikh history. He was the leader of the Damdami Taksal and the founder of the Shaheed Misl.
To protect Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), he fought against Afghan invaders at the age of 75. During the battle of 1757 near Amritsar, his head was severed from his body. True to his vow, he continued fighting while holding his head in his left hand and wielding a nearly 15 kg Khanda (double-edged sword) in his right hand, until he reached the parikrama of Sri Harmandir Sahib. His supreme sacrifice remains an eternal symbol of faith and bravery for the Sikh community.
The main attraction of today’s Samagam was the holy presence of Bhai Sarwan Singh Ji (Canada Wale).
He is the Guinness World Record holder for the longest beard in the world, measuring approximately 8 feet 3 inches.
Bhai Sarwan Singh Ji (Canada Wale) is a renowned Ragi and Kathavachak, especially known for his soulful recitation of Sehaj Paath and Sampooran Paath of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. His Gurbani recitations and Kirtan are regularly broadcast on Chardikla Time TV and YouTube, through which thousands of devotees receive spiritual blessings.
At the conclusion of the Samagam, Langar Prasad was served to the Sangat, reflecting the great Sikh traditions of equality, selfless service, and love.
