The Toyota Tundra 2026 is here, and while it’s not a full redesign, it brings a host of smart updates that make this full-size pickup truck more capable, comfortable, and competitive than ever. In this video, we break down everything that’s new on the 2026 Tundra, from major feature upgrades to subtle trim changes, so you know exactly what to expect before you buy.
We cover the new standard 32.2-gallon fuel tank, now included on all trims for longer range, up to 550 miles without towing. We also look at the available power open and close tailgate with knee-lift assist and the clever new bump switch on the driver-side taillight. If you're towing, you'll appreciate that i-FORCE MAX hybrid models now include a trailer brake controller and Straight Path Assist as standard.
Inside, we take a closer look at the Capstone trim’s luxurious new black-and-tan interior with Shale Premium Textured Leather, plus new interior trim options for Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition. TRD trims see exciting enhancements too, including the IsoDynamic Performance Seats—carried over from the Tacoma—and the TRD 3-inch lift kit and Tow Tech Package now available with the TRD Rally Package, one of the most trail-ready configurations yet.
We also discuss Toyota’s decision to stick with the i-FORCE V6 and i-FORCE MAX hybrid engines for another year, and what that means for fans still hoping for a V8 return. Could the Lexus twin-turbo V8 ever find its way into a future Tundra now that CAFE penalties have been dropped? We dig into that too.
Other updates include:
Wave Maker, a bold new paint color exclusive to the TRD Pro
Smoked silver interior accents across multiple trims
Power running boards now available on TRD Off-Road-equipped Platinum and 1794 models
Standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, even though newer 4.0 tech is being used in other Toyota models
And yes… still no factory tow hooks
If you’re shopping for a full-size truck or wondering whether to wait for the rumored 2027 Tundra redesign, this is the video for you. We’ll help you figure out whether these 2026 updates make the latest Tundra worth it, or if you should wait just a little longer.
