What kind of body swap would you want? Have you ever wanted to swap bodies? Watch the boy to girl story about what happens when a ballet dancer injures himself and is forced to teach, but gets an opportunity to body swap with a young ballerina, learning ultimately that where there’s a will there’s a way.
Sebastian has dedicated his entire life to ballet and risen to the top of the game, but after he injures himself in a performance, the doctors tell him he will never dance again. He resigns into teaching dance and opens his own studio, but he remains bitter that he can no longer dance himself, and has trouble inspiring his students. But when he gets a new, eager student, Liv, he begins to become reinvigorated. After discovering a strange innovative technology, Liv convinces Sebastian to trade bodies with her, and he dances once again. But he doesn’t want to give it up and believes that life in his own body is a prison. But when Sebastian sees what Liv does with his body, he realizes that healing is possible and embraces the notion that “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

People are always asking me what it was like to be a woman--to switch bodies with a famous ballet dancer. I’ll tell you all about Liv and my experience living in her skin, but you might be surprised. My name’s Sebastian, I’m 26, and my story starts before I met Liv, back when I was one of the most popular male dancers at the New York Opera Ballet. I was at the height of my career, in the spotlight as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake for a crowd of nearly 6 thousand. And just as I was lifting my partner back, about to twirl. I slipped, lost balance, and felt a shooting pain up my leg. I dropped my partner, and ruined the dance. I ripped my Achilles tendon, and now, I have to walk with a cane. The doctors said, I’d never dance again, and my brilliant career was over in one fell swoop. I felt like I was nothing without my body, but I had to do something. So I started teaching. My pops put up the dough for a small dance studio. I started small, just a few students. I knew what to say, and how to groom their technique, but deep down, I was still bitter, angry that my career had been cut short. I envied my students with their healthy bodies and fresh starts. But it wasn’t until I met Liv that I became a real coach. She caught me after I was closing up shop one night and followed me all the way to the subway, telling me that I was the reason she wanted to be a ballet dancer. And then she asked why I quit dancing. “Do you not see this cane?” She saw it, and she read all about my accident, but she still thought I should be trying. The kid lived in a dream world, I thought. She talked about dancing on famous stages and all that wide-eyed stuff. The next morning, she was waiting for me at the studio. I figured she was skipping school or something, but she said this was her school. I said all the stuff I was supposed to about inspiration, but it felt like just words. I was still bitter. But still--Liv was hanging on every syllable I spoke. After class, she asked me if she could stay and practice her turns. I watched her sweat until I finally kicked her out for the day. But she was back the next day. And the day after that. She worked hard and wouldn’t give in no matter how frustrating it got. The other dancers were passing time, but not Liv--she danced with purpose. She kept pressing me to dance again, and one day, she told me something strange--that I could use her body if I wanted. She showed me this web post looking for body swap volunteers. She even had a business card from the organization. The experiment was safe. They were developing technologies to swap bodies. Apparently, there’s a market of people who are looking for various physical experiences. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to switch avatars in this game of life.
These were all the things this venture capitalist and science rogue was saying to Liv when she inquired. I blew her off and said she needed to focus on herself, not some body swap experiment to re-inspire me. Over the years, I groomed several dancers and coached troupes of guys and gals, but nobody was quite like Liv. She had the heart of a lion. She worked harder, developed grace and skill that surpassed mere technique. Her grit reminded me of myself when I was younger. So I got her an audition at the New York House. I thought she was ready. But before the audition, Liv developed some kind of mental block and stage fright. She couldn’t land her grand jete without slipping on her toes...
