Match 9 of GT20 Canada Season 1 between Montreal Tigers and Edmonton Royals was a low-scoring affair that saw one of the best bowling performances from both teams.
Put in to bat first by the opposition, Montreal Tigers faced an all-left-arm pace attack spearheaded by the captain Sohail Tanvir himself. Wayne Parnell bowled superbly in this innings with figures of 3-23 with Mohammad Irfan giving the required support. Moises Henriques tried to hold the anchor for Montreal Tigers scoring a run-a-ball 50 that helped them to post a total of 129/6
Edmonton Royals responded well with a brisk start courtesy of Luke Ronchi's 30 off 19 balls. Although it was Peter Siddle's 2nd over that opened the flood gates for Edmonton Royals, picking up 2 wickets and conceding just 1 run in the over. The Royals never recovered from this and the whole Montreal Tigers bowling line-up chipped in restricting Edmonton Royals for 114 and winning the match with 15 runs.
