I'll take you along the beach, the strip and the bars and restaurants of Puerto Del Carmen. This is the busiest holiday resort and holiday destination of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands

Puerto del Carmen is the ultimate spot if you want a holiday that is actually busy. It's a much lively holiday and tourist destination than Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise.

The main vibe centers on the Avenida de las Playas, or the Strip, which is a massive coastal road lined with every kind of bar and restaurant you can imagine. During the day, it is all about casual beach cafes and people-watching, but once the sun goes down, the place really wakes up. You can bounce between themed spots like the rock-and-roll styled Ruta 66, grab a cocktail with a view at Serenity Chill Out, or dive into the live music scene at The Dubliner. If you want something a bit more authentic, the Old Town Harbour is the go-to for incredible tapas at places like La Carmencita or fresh seafood right by the water at Mardeleva.

The food scene is massive and covers basically every craving. You have top-tier Indian spots like Aroma and Asian fusion at Enjoy, which are famous for being way better than your typical tourist traps. For steak lovers, Lomo Alto and Toro Grill are the big names. It is not all just sit-down meals either; the nightlife is the most concentrated on the island. You will find everything from quiet wine bars like Vino+ to late-night spots and even a comedy drag show at the Music Hall Tavern. Whether you want a cheap pint at a British pub or a fancy gin and tonic at a chic lounge like La Delicatezza, you are never more than a few steps away from the next drink.

The beaches are the real anchor of the resort and they are huge. Playa Grande is the main stretch of golden sand where most people hang out, and it is perfect because the water is usually calm and great for a dip between drinks. If you prefer something a bit more unique, Playa Chica is a small, rocky cove that is famous for snorkeling—the water is so clear it is like swimming in an aquarium. For those who like a long walk, Playa de los Pocillos is a massive, wide beach that never feels crowded even when the town is packed. Between the sun-soaked sands and the endless line of bars, it is pretty easy to see why most people end up here.
