Indirect resin composite restorations necessitate a paradigm shift in our restorative procedures. In the first appointment, after caries removal, the abutment is adhesively reconstructed, using simply bonding agent and resin composite. Sub-gingival margins - when present - are relocated outside of the free gingival margin. The margins are then finished using 40μm diamonds, prior to impression making using triple tray and fast set heavy and light body PVS. The indirect workpiece is luted in a second appointment.
