Las Vegas Marathon Video

The Revel Big Bear marathon was cancelled this year due to a mudslide destroying part of the course, so Brooksee let us transfer the registration to the Las Vegas Marathon. I think it was the second year this particular marathon was run, and it is mostly downhill and similar to the Revel Mount Charleston run.

I got my second-best time (3:58:21), and my sister, Sam, got what we think is her PR (4:07:09).

For some reason, the start was delayed by 15 minutes which was annoying since it was cold and windy. The scenery was nice at the beginning, but soon became boring desert and we were running mostly north-east, so the sun was in our eyes a good portion of the time. I liked cheering on the spectators, photographers, and volunteers since that was pretty much the only entertainment on the course and their energy helped give me back energy.

The oldest runner was 77 years old and the youngest was 9 years old, which is amazing. We saw and spoke with the youngest and her mom around mile 3.
