Shall SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch resign? Why is this chatter going on out there?

Has she violated some serious regulations and guidelines that need serious attention?

SEBI, as a regulator, has set pretty high standards in terms of compliances and regulations.

Be it with the guidelines of Finfluencers where the SEBI chairperson mentioned that if one takes even the name of a stock, it will be considered as an advice and the Finfluencer would be seen as an advisor.

As far as conflict of interest is concerned, SEBI has been very active in coming up with guidelines from time to time for stockbrokers, research analyst, investment advisors, portfolio managers and other regulated entities. These regulations are further self-applied by the regulator on itself.

However, with the recent events going on, things are boiling around the controversy of SEBI chairperson's conflict of interests highlighted by a research by an american firm called Hindenburg.
