MechWarrior 5: Clans by Piranha Games is the latest installment in the MechWarrior series of video games, part of the larger BattleTech universe.

In the year 3048, a mysterious vessel appears in orbit above the planet Huntress; homeworld of Clan Smoke Jaguar. The discovery of their hidden star systems by the rest of humanity threatens every Clan, and so Leo Showers of Smoke Jaguar convinces his fellow Khans to launch Operation REVIVAL; the preemptive invasion of the Inner Sphere. Their goal is to reach Terra and establish a new Star League.

MechWarrior 5: Clans offers a new perspective on the Clan Invasion first introduced in the Blood of Kerensky trilogy of BattleTech novels. The game covers the events of 1989's Lethal Heritage and 1990's Blood Legacy.

CAMPAIGN BRIEFING:

Humanity has expanded to the stars and brought all their problems with them. After centuries of living in exile, the descendants of the Star League Defence Force have evolved into an honourable warrior society known as the Clans.

In 3048, a new generation of Clan Smoke Jaguar trainees arrive on Huntress. Intent on proving themselves worthy to join the ranks of the Jaguar warrior caste. The strongest of Kerensky's Clans and champions of the Crusader cause that seeks to lead all the Children of Kerensky out of exile.

And bring vengeance down on the despots and tyrants who now rule over their birthright: the Inner Sphere.
