‘Tis the season for Christmas trains! For the first time, ex-Chesapeake & Ohio H-6 Class 2-6-6-2 “Mallet” #1309 is on the head of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s Polar Express excursions out of Frostburg, Maryland. Thousands of passengers lined up to take a ride behind The Last Baldwin, enough to justifying extra cars to this weekend’s consist. This video covers these Polar Express trips in some locations that normally wouldn’t be able to be accessed during regular season runs, as well as exciting nighttime steam scenes.
