Around 6 PM that Monday, a mesocyclonic storm swept parts of south central Broward County and moved off shore over parts of Hollywood and Hollywood Beach. The hail-warned storm formed as a result of day-time heating and sea breeze winds over South Florida, typical usually from May to October. However, 2015 was greeted with an early rainy season, starting in mid April.
