Bengaluru, November 21, 2025: Ramaiah Memorial Hospital and Ramaiah Medical College today inaugurated the Worldwide Network for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (WBMT) Symposium on Cell Therapy – Bengaluru 2025, a landmark global scientific convention held in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO). The event brings together leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers from the USA, Europe, UK, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and India for high-impact discussions on CAR-T therapies, bone marrow transplantation (BMT), and advanced cellular treatments.
The symposium, co-organized by the Ramaiah Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy Program, was inaugurated by Mr. K.B. Sivakumar, IAS; Dr. Nagendra Swamy S.C.; and Professor Damiano Rondelli, President of WBMT. Professor Rondelli emphasized the importance of international collaboration to improve global access and quality of care in cellular therapy.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Nagendra Swamy highlighted Bengaluru’s growing role in advancing global healthcare innovation and the need for stronger systems and training frameworks as cell therapy science rapidly evolves. Dr. Santhosh K. Devadas added that the emergence of gene-modified and cellular therapies marks the next frontier in treating cancer and inherited blood disorders, reinforcing the significance of hosting this global platform in India.
