What's In My Shot Pouch?

Shot pouches are a tough item to document thoroughly, let alone what people commonly carried in them. A lot is left to speculation and conjecture. In this episode I talk about mine, what is in it, and why I choose to be plain and simple.

I explore a couple of quotes from period sources. As a note, the best I can nail down is that the John James Audubon quote would have happened sometime around 1810 although the actual publication was much later. There are a lot of great makers out there. Darrel Lang, Chris Crosby, Shelly Gier, and others. Alex at the Frontier Trading Company has some great options and is relatively new to the maker scene. Which one should you choose? When it comes to high end equipment making any of them will work, they are all simply different in some way.

Pardon the blurriness and other small issues in this video. I have been struggling with what to do about it for a month and I have finally decided to just get it out. Onward I will go. A mediocre plan executed now is always better than a perfect plan executed late. I appreciate everyone’s grace. If anyone wonders why I am looking at my right foot so much it was ants. Black ants trying to crawl up my foot. It was enough to get my attention.
