Two SD40-2s are slowly traversing the Control Siding at Nelson, Illinois 37 years ago.
This was a foggy December day and I'm standing very near or on the pad where the interlocking tower once stood to watch this eastbound Chicago and North Western manifest pass.
The old signal bridge I was shooting VHS through has been replaced in recent years by the U.P. but the iconic coaling tower still stands but was lost in the fog this day.
