After days of heavy rain, I made a quick roadside stop with just one rod in the truck and tied on a cheap Ozark Trail crankbait from Walmart. The water was flooded and flowing hard under a bridge, but the bass were on. Caught my first smallmouth in a long time, and it felt so good! Sometimes, the best trips are the unplanned ones.
