The film is adapted from the novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" written by American writer Ken Kesey. The film tells the story of Mike Murphy, who pretended to be mentally ill and was sent to a mental hospital in order to escape forced labor in prison. His arrival brought a severe shock to the lifeless mental hospital. He challenged the strict management system and began to plan to lead a group of patients to escape from the mental hospital. In the end, the man who led everyone to freedom had his frontal lobe removed and was eventually killed dramatically.
