I actually get a lot of work from this vacuum leak scenario technicians don’t know about.
I get called into shops where they have the big dumb machine for doing recovery recycle recharge and their machine shuts down because it fails the vacuum leak.
Again due to lack of education and lack of training lack of experience lack of mentoring not performing a formal apprenticeship the technicians and especially the owners of the shop have absolutely not a clue of what they’re doing.
So in this scenario is where I locate the leak and even give a recommendation of replacing the compressor or performing my quick pressure run that reseats the front shaft seal.
If so then I can complete the vacuum and recharge the vehicle.
