Truth: With the power of my own guesses, The Horned King either kills someone to offer it to the Cauldron or he lifts a Dead soldier's body that Taran may have killed earlier.
After that, the stuff everyone knows about, Skeleton jumps from the mist, slices the guard, a couple more jump up they kill some soldiers too, and the mist covers them thus melting one of them. DISNEY!
