This realistic portrait drawing uses a combination of graphite and charcoal powder to create soft shading and smooth gradients. In this timelapse, I show my full process from sketch to final details.
You’ll see how I apply charcoal powder for soft shadows, blend the midtones, and refine the highlights with graphite pencils.

-Wilkos (uk store) SOFT Charcoal pencil (& sandpaper to make powder)
-Bristol Vellum paper
-Kneaded eraser, electric eraser & pencil eraser
